Jay Klumb - The 570 Blog / Artist Showcase
Hello all, my name is Jerome Klumb and I am a martial artist from the Lock Haven area. This has been my passion since I was a child. My inspiration for martial arts started when I was a child watching the original UFC fights with my grandfather. I remember watching Royce Gracie beating everyone and I said I want to be just like him one day.
Martial arts are far more than just hobby for me. My favorite part of Jiu-Jitsu is the personal growth that comes with it. Jiu-Jitsu is much deeper than a self-defense system. It forces you to face your weaknesses everyday and teaches you how to overcome them. The lessons I have learned on those Jiu-Jitsu mats, have helped transform my life in so many positive ways.
While I do get a lot of joy from this, I also want to compete and show my skills. The difficult part about being from a small town and being in my field is the lack of opportunities in our area. I have to travel out of town to be able to train and compete. Not to mention the complications a pandemic can bring for martial artists.
My hopes for the future is to become a world champion and when my days of competition come to an end, I want to open my own school so I can share my knowledge and love of Martial arts with others.
