My name is Abby Martin and I am the owner of Gifts for the Gals. My store is an online jewelry boutique with many products, including metal punched rings, bracelets, handmade earrings and charms.
This business gives me a creative outlet and I feel that I’m sending love to every customer, since the jewelry is personally made for them. I select products that best represent me and my brand. When first starting a business, there are many factors that play into your success.
First, don’t take too much risk. In other words, try to keep your start up cost as low as possible. Afterwards you can grow and branch with new ideas and opportunities without stretching yourself too thin.
Next, remember to stay positive. Rome was not built in a day or overnight! Success takes work and time.
Finally, make sure you're able to communicate with your market through multiple outlets. This could be social media such as Facebook or Instagram.
I had people asking for jewelry parties before I even thought about them! Small parties and get-togethers are a great way for people to get introduced to your business and get to know you. When you're a new business, people are more willing to trust you and become a consumer if they know the person behind the name and idea. Small gatherings are also a great way to get feedback and ideas to become more successful.
I chose to start a business to give everyone in our community a way to select unique and personalized gifts for special gals and to treat themselves to affordable and well-deserved jewelry. Gifts for the Gals strives to make hearts smile and to encourage everyone to be bold. My message to everyone out there is to simply: BE YOU.
