The 570 Blog Showcase - Arch and Point / Elizabeth Snyder

Here at Mod570 we often focus on young creators in the fashion industry. Whether it’s a specific kind of clothing or a collab of music and fashion. Though we have not focused on makeup/tattoo artists, who are just as creative as any other creator. Enter Elizabeth Snyder, a local business owner who specializes in cosmetic tattoos.

“I am an all-around micropigmentation specialist, and the owner of Arch and Point. [My business] is cosmetic tattoo aka “permanent makeup” - I offer various services such as shaded brows, lash enhancement liner, full lip coverage and freckles,” said Snyder.

What is a micropigmentation specialist?

"Micropigmentation also known as permanent makeup, permanent cosmetics or cosmetic tattooing, is a cosmetic procedure used to improve or replace lost coloring on your skin. You do this by implementing the pigment into the skin with small needles. Very similar to tattooing. A micropigmentation specialist is someone who is trained in this and whom can perform these procedures. Including some like brows, lash enhancement liner and lips," said Snyder.

As someone who has tattoos, I didn’t even know this was thing. But Snyder did not just decide to do this out of nowhere. In fact, this type of creativity takes in-depth training. Snyder completed this training prior to opening in August of 2020.

“I did very extensive training program with Nouveau Contour, one of the top companies in this industry.

Snyder plans on going back to Nouveau Contour for her training. She would like to offer areolas to breast cancer survivors.

Much like how a local artist or creator feels about their work, Snyder says she finds her work incredibly rewarding. Citing that one of her favorite feelings is giving her clients their confidence back by helping them with natural beauty. Though in a unique creative field, Snyder still believes that her experience in starting a business, can provide insight to other up and coming entrepreneurs.

“It takes time, it doesn’t happen overnight. Embrace every part of the process, be grateful in every stage. Even when you're struggling. You will appreciate the win even more,” said Snyder.

Being from the area also helps, as Snyder says she finds great excitement in working in her hometown. Like other business owners in the 570, Snyder has a connection to the community. Giving a community confidence through beauty is a gift in itself.

“It means so much to me to be able to give something back to the community that has given so much to me,” said Snyder.
