The 570 Blog Showcase - Ben Webby / Artist
Unknown to many and known to some, my name is Ben Webby. I am a 22 year-old music artist/producer from Lock Haven, PA. Music has always had a great influence on me, and as I grew older I found myself becoming increasingly passionate about the process of music creation.
In my junior year of high school, I began to experiment with writing and producing my own music. I quickly fell in love with the process and have continued to work vigorously in creating sounds that my fans can enjoy. It has been over 5 years since I began this journey, and I am grateful for every opportunity that I have had thus far.
What has Ben Webby been working on?
I have been extremely busy lately. I am currently working on finishing up my albums, preparing music videos for unreleased songs, creating new sounds, and developing merchandise for the individuals that support me. I plan on dropping a new album in February alongside giveaways. At times, it can be hard to keep up with everything, but I am sure to always put aside time to work on fulfilling my dreams and aspirations. Although this year has been tough for everyone, I remain optimistic for 2021, and am excited to show everyone my new projects!
What is difficult about being from a small town and doing music?
Producing music from a small town has proved to be difficult in different ways. Lock Haven has such a small population, which has made it difficult for me to expand my fan base. I write to relate to people and give them art that they can appreciate, so amplifying my music is extremely important to me. The support that I have received from my current fan base since the beginning of my career has been amazing and I continue to strive to give those individuals music they enjoy. International music platforms, such as Spotify and Soundcloud have also helped me in spreading my creations and I plan to continue to release music on these platforms throughout the future to broaden my fan base.
What could change those difficulties?
Expanding my fanbase and attaining a broader audience will take time, but I am committed to working hard to push more content out that my viewers will love. I will continue my dedication to attaining this goal through releasing and creating more music onto the platforms that I am already on and new ones as they arise. I would also like to perform in front of a live audience more often, to interact and meet with individuals who are interested in my work.
What is your vision for the future?
I have a clear vision for the future. I would like to wake up every day, as my own boss and work on producing music as my primary job. I want to become more involved with my music, and the entertainment industry by doing what I love. I want to be known for who I am and what I have already accomplished. I want to be successful.
